7/8/2010 9:32:44 AM - ALBUQUERQUE – Thanks to a thoughtful friend, Sherry Gordon will meet Aerosmith, her very favorite band.
On her 55th birthday in March, Gordon’s best friend gave her “Aerosmith®”
Scratchers from the
New Mexico Lottery and told her about a special drawing for players with non-winning tickets. The prize was a trip to meet Aerosmith at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

“All night long we talked about how I was going to win that trip,” Gordon recalled for lottery officials.
And she did indeed win. Last week, the Albuquerque resident’s ticket was drawn from among 4,000 entries as the winner of the trip for two valued at $5,000.
After learning of her good fortune, Gordon called her girlfriend.
“We were both screaming,” the winner recalled for lottery officials. “She said ‘I’ll never be able to top this birthday present.’”
Gordon calls herself the “queen of Aerosmith.”
“I just love their music,” she said, adding that “Crazy” is her cell phone ring tone.
The party with Aerosmith is scheduled for Oct. 28. Gordon is taking her husband, Lance, a master of jazz, blues and early rock trivia.
And Gordon has already decided what she’ll be wearing for her once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Aerosmith. The “queen” plans to wear a white gown trimmed in chains, spangled boots and a white leather jacket.
“I’m going to look better than everyone else at that party,” Gordon said.
