ALBUQUERQUE – A Farmington woman claimed a $140,000 jackpot from the New Mexico Lottery today.
On a quick-pick ticket, Sharon Deromedi matched the winning numbers of 7, 8, 10, 12 and 22 in Saturday’s Roadrunner Cash® drawing. The odds of landing a Roadrunner Cash jackpot are 1 in approximately 436,000.
Sharon and her husband, Rocky, discovered their good fortune Sunday morning while checking their ticket against lottery numbers published in the paper.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Sharon told lottery officials in Albuquerque. “You think about all those tickets being sold and we have all the winning numbers.”
After paying a few bills, the couple said it plans to save the prize.
The Deromedis bought their lucky ticket at the 7-2-11 store located at 1800 E. Murray in Farmington. Previously, the store has sold 12 large prize-winning lottery tickets paying between $1,000 and $30,000. For selling a ticket winning a Roadrunner Cash jackpot, the 7-2-11 store is eligible for a $1,000 bonus from the New Mexico Lottery.
Earlier in the month, Dino’s Market at 405 Road 390 in Farmington sold a Scratcher game that paid a $25,000 prize to Tawnie Ross of Redding, Calif.
