ALBUQUERQUE – Robert Swartwood of Albuquerque claimed a $2 million Powerball® prize from the New Mexico Lottery yesterday.
Swartwood was lucky twice.

First, his quick-pick ticket for Saturday’s drawing matched the white ball numbers of 11, 21, 26, 33 and 34 to win $1 million.
In a second-lucky strike, Swartwood doubled his prize to $2 million by adding the $1 Power Play® feature to his ticket. Power Play multiplies non-jackpot prizes.
Swartwood said he plays Powerball whether the jackpot is up or down.
“I don’t really care what the jackpot is,” Swartwood said. “Sure, I would love to get it, but I aim for the second-place prize.”
After comparing his ticket numbers to the winning numbers published in the Albuquerque Journal, the newly minted millionaire worked in his yard and finished reading a few chapters in a book on Civil War history.
Swartwood said he plans to share his prize with his large extended family and invest in his engineering business.
Swartwood bought his lucky ticket at Duke City Fueling located at 4000 Carlisle Blvd. NE in Albuquerque. For selling the $2 million-winning ticket, the store is eligible for a $2,500 New Mexico Lottery bonus.
$200,000 Scratcher Prize
Late Friday, Las Vegas resident Robert Larranaga claimed a $200,000 prize from the “$200,000 Cash Bonanza” Scratcher. Larranaga bought his lucky ticket at Ray’s Liquor Store located at 2620 Hot Springs Blvd. in Las Vegas.
