ALBUQUERQUE – The MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game will draw winning numbers for the first time Friday at 9:15 p.m. M.T.
The new national drawing game is designed to make millionaires of many players rather than pay a gigantic jackpot to one extraordinarily lucky person.
“The goal is to spread the wealth and make more and more millionaires,” said New Mexico Lottery CEO David Barden.
The MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game offers three ways to become a millionaire.
- A top prize that will start at $15 million and roll to a cap of $25 million;
- When the top prize is hit, there will be a second drawing for at least 10 prizes of $1 million nationwide;
- A chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. and a chance to appear on the nationally televised game show to win $1 million.
The New Mexico Lottery began selling tickets on Sunday. Tickets are $5 each. Drawings will always be on Friday evening. How-to-play brochures are available in stores and at www.nmlottery.com.
The game was developed by Scientific Games and uses Hasbro’s iconic MONOPOLY brand.
