ALBUQUERQUE – Good fortune found two New Mexico Lottery players in Las Cruces.
Salvador Rubio won a $205,000 jackpot in Friday’s Roadrunner Cash® drawing. On his quick-pick ticket, Rubio had two plays. One play matched the five winning numbers of 12, 13 14, 16 and 25, beating odds of one in 435,897 to land the night’s jackpot. His ticket’s second play won $1.

Rubio claimed his winnings Tuesday at New Mexico Lottery headquarters in Albuquerque.
“It was meant to be,” Rubio recalled for lottery officials, adding that after he discovered the prize, he waved toward the sky and said, “Thank you, God.”
Rubio, who said he plans to use his prize to buy a little house, bought his lucky ticket at the Pic Quik located at 210 E. Union Ave. in Las Cruces. The store has a lucky track record. In 2002, it sold a Powerball® ticket that brought a $17.8 million jackpot to Isabell Delgado of Mesilla Park.
In the lottery’s “Points and Rewards” promotion, Linda Courtney won $5,000.
In Points and Rewards, Scratcher players can enter non-winning tickets from $1, $2 and $3 games for a chance to win $5,000 or one of 300 prizes of points that can be redeemed for electronics, small appliances and fashion accessories. Drawings are monthly through 2015.
