ALBUQUERQUE – Lotto AmericaSM, a new multi-state Lottery game featuring a nostalgic throwback name, debuts November 12th. The game was named after its 1980’s predecessor, which was later renamed Powerball®.
The $1 Lotto America draw game will begin two weeks after the Hot Lotto® game ends. “Players are looking for something new with exciting prizes. This new game offers a $2 million dollar starting jackpot, at a ticket cost of just a buck,” said David Barden, New Mexico Lottery CEO. “Mega Millions® moved to $2 on October 28th, so the $1 Lotto America game fills the much-welcomed $1 price point.”
The initial advertised Grand Prize for the first drawing will be $15 million, as the result of there being no Grand Prize winner in the final Hot Lotto drawing. The regular starting Grand Prize for Lotto America is $2 million.

About Lotto America
Players choose 5 white ball numbers from 1 to 52 and 1 Star BallSM number from 1 to 10 on a Lotto America play slip, or ask for a “Quick Pick.” For an additional $1 per play per draw, “All Star BonusSM” multiplies non-jackpot Lotto America prizes 2-5 times. The odds of winning the Lotto America jackpot are 1 in 26 million, compared to odds of 1 in 292.2 million of winning the Powerball jackpot and 1 in 302.6 million of winning the Mega Millions jackpot under that game’s new October 28th design.
Beginning November 12, Lotto America will be available in Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Lotto America drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at approximately 9:15 p.m. Mountain Time.

Lotto Combo, an option for players to purchase multiple draw games at the same time, will also relaunch November 12. The new option will offer SIX quick pick plays for $10: Two Powerball plays, two Mega Millions plays, one Lotto America play, and one Roadrunner Cash™ play.
